As most of you know, Ken Day has officially retired. The Mayor and City Council express their thanks to Ken for the 29 plus years of service he has given to the City. And, wish him well as he begins to enjoy the retirement time he has earned.
Effective June 1, 2020 Duane Jernberg takes over as the City of Mackay Public Works Supervisor replacing Ken. The Mayor and CIty Council congratulate Duane on his new position and express their support. Duane has the licenses and certifications needed to operate the City sewer and water system as required by law. He has worked as a full time employee for the City for the past several years and is very familiar with the operations of the City.
If you need services to be performed by a City employee please call the City Office at 208-588-2274. One of the City Clerks will take your request and complete a Work Order which will be presented at the weekly Staff Meeting for scheduling. This will require preplanning by each citizen as City Staff will no longer be immediately available unless there is an emergency. This includes turning water on and off.
All citizens and property owners who have problems with either their sewer or water are to first determine if the problem is on their property by calling a licensed plumber. The City will only respond to licensed plumber requests once they have determined the problem is off the private property of the owner.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Acting Mayor, City of Mackay
